Romeo & Jeannine Letendre

Our History 1946-1989

Romeo and Jeannine Letendre immigrated to the United States from French speaking Quebec in 1946. Romeo joined the painter’s union that same year. Both Romeo and Jeannine spoke little English and their first priority was to the learn the language. Romeo started his own business in 1950 and worked hard to build his business so that Jeannine could stay home to raise their four children.

The money he earned provided the young couple with a new home in Springfield and the support he needed for his bride and children. That was their home for 55 years. Romeo passed in 2008 and Jeannine passed in 2015 and are truly missed.

1963 to present

As full-service Springfield, MA home and commercial painting contractors, providing a variety of painting and handyman services, Letendre Painting has now been operating for three generations. His son, Denis, apprenticed with his father for many years in the Romeo school of hard knocks. Denis’ children Christiane and Daniel represent the third generation and are not strangers to the painting business. We are happy to announce that in 2018 Daniel joined the company as administrative assistant. Daniel brings to the table his customer service skills from years working in Quebec in the window and door industry.

Letendre Painting cares about helping those in an around Springfield, MA with home and commercial painting and handyman services that are unmatched in the industry. We still maintain the same core values of honesty, strong work ethic, quality workmanship and fair value labor that Romeo held dear.
